From September 18th to 20th, 2024, the 64th International Foundry Conference (IFC) took place in Portorož, organized by the Slovenian Foundrymen Society. This important professional event brought together foundry experts, scientists, and suppliers from the foundry industry across numerous European countries, with the aim of exchanging knowledge, experiences, and the latest advancements in the field.
The conference featured distinguished experts from both domestic and international universities, research institutes, and representatives of foundry companies, giving the event a truly international significance and importance.
Kovis Livarna d.o.o. actively participated in the conference with a presentation titled “Green Transformation and Sustainability Measures in Cast Iron Foundries,” prepared by A. Tekavčič, J. Poklič and J. Vranc. The presentation addressed key sustainability challenges and solutions that are crucial for the future of the foundry industry in light of environmental requirements and the green transition.
We also contributed to a presentation titled “ A new shape of tele miniriser for an increased thermal efficiency,” where our expert S. Al Jasim was a co-author. This research emphasized innovative approaches to improving the energy efficiency of foundry processes, which is a vital step towards reducing energy losses and increasing productivity.
